Robotic cardiac surgery for removal of an embolized iliac venous stent in the right cardiac chambers: a case report
Cardiac stent embolization following iliac venous angioplasty for May-Thurner syndrome is a rare and serious complication, with few cases described in the literature. Most reported cases progressed to open cardiac surgery after failed endovascular treatment. This report describes the successful treatment via minimally invasive robotic cardiac surgery, without the need for sternotomy, cardioplegia, or aortic cross-clamping.
